Ticket €35 (sold online), including a neck pouch, wine passport, pen, glass, wristband and commemorative "thalers" worth €15 to pay winemakers for samples, plus the traditional Kremnica krumpel sweet.
Why go
The 7th Kremnica Wine Festival marks the town's 698th anniversary and opens Gothic cellars and passage halls that are normally closed to the public, where wine was poured centuries ago.
More than 30 selected wineries from across Slovakia take part. Paying with thalers is a nod to Kremnica's famous minting tradition — a great reason for a November weekend trip.
