Why go
Nemce hosts the 18th International Sauerkraut Soup (kapustnica) and Pork-Feast Platter Cooking Contest. Up to twenty three-member teams cook over open fires in kettles and assemble a traditional pork platter.
An independent jury scores both disciplines, and visitors can see the platters at each team's stall. Expect kapustnica, curd fritters and sweets for sale, plus folk ensembles, a dance studio, a singing performance by Maroš Bango, a raffle and an evening folk-rock concert by Nová Stopa.
