Why go
Čičmany looks like a postcard in winter, and the 5th Christmas cabbage soup contest is a great reason to visit. Teams cook kapustnica, the soup that belongs on the Slovak Christmas Eve table, each with its own recipe – mushrooms, prunes, smoked meat or sausage.
The contest is combined with St. Nicholas' visit, so it is family-friendly, and you can also stop by the Raden House folk-culture exhibition.
